Exclusive Use
• When you hire Shepstone Gardens, you will have exclusive use of the venue.
• This includes the hall, the glass roofed observatory chapel, the Jacaranda Garden, the Dutch Lawn and the garden walks.
• The main house at No. 8 is not included.

Shepstone Gardens offers a full
co-ordination package. Please call Marielle on 076 237 9043 for more information.
Alternatively, we offer On The Day co-ordination. Please speak to us about this service.
Also every function is assigned a 'Front of House' manager to oversee the waiters and staff as well as liase with you and the caterers.
Our Preffered Suppliers
Shepstone Gardens works closely with a diverse group of carefully selected caterers.
This means you will be able to find the perfect catering solution for your function.
Please refer to our list of preferred suppiliers on the next page or call us to discuss ideas for your event.
Caterers & Suppliers not on our Preferred Supplier list are restricted from working at Shepstone Gardens.
Noise Restrictions
• As we are in a residential area, we are obliged to turn the music down at midnight and off at 1 am.
• Please be aware that all amplified music needs to be restricted to the hall.
• All events are wrapped up by 1 am.
Marquees
[Beduin-style tents]
• Any marquees to be erected at Shepstone Gardens must be removed immediately after the function is over.
• An approved floor to protect the lawn will also be required and will need to be removed immediately after the function.
Look after your valuables
Please take every opportunity to secure your valuables.
While we take obvious precations such as security guards at every function, we cannot be held responsible for any lost, stolen or missing items.
Please lock up valuables and take them with you before you leave.
Waiters
• One waiter per table or per 10 guests is required.
• One barman & one sculler [cleaner] is required for every 50 guests.
• Half the waiters may depart after desert is cleared.
• The remaining waiters are required to stay for at least an hour after the last guest has left in order to ‘strike’ [clear].
• Our waiters [& barmen] cost:
• R66 per waiter per hour in 2011,
• R72 per waiter per hour in 2012 and
• R78 per waiter/p/h in 2013.
Booking & Payment
• We require 50% of the venue hire cost as a deposit for a booking.
• Once we recieve your deposit, your date is secure.
• Please call to arrange a viewing and allow us to quote you for your function.
